How coupons work on SeeMe City, for shoppers and for businesses
Ad-free post. SeeMe City sells signs on its street; this post explains how it works.
In short: Every sign on SeeMe City can carry a coupon: a code, an offer and an optional end date. Shoppers find deals in a list, nearest first, and copy a code with one tap. Businesses add a coupon when they lease a sign and can change it any time.
What is a coupon on SeeMe City?
A coupon on SeeMe City is a code, an offer and an optional end date that a business puts on one of its signs. For example, an offer could be "10% off any drink" with the code SAVE10. A small yellow tag swings from the corner of any sign that carries a coupon, so you can spot them as you walk.

How do shoppers find deals?
Open the menu on the street and choose Deals. The list shows every coupon on Ocean Ave, nearest first, and tapping a deal takes you to that building. There is also a Deals page that lists the coupons on one plain web page.
Or just walk the street and look for the yellow tags.
What does a sign's card show?
Tap any sign and a card opens with the business name, the sign's headline and an Ad label. If the sign has a coupon, the card shows the offer, the code and a Copy code button. Another button opens the business's website in a new tab.
Every paid sign says Ad, and links to advertisers are marked sponsored. Signs marked Sample are examples with made-up names, not real businesses.
How do shoppers use a coupon code?
Tap a sign, tap Copy code, then use the code with the business. How you use it depends on the business, so read the offer on the card first. If the coupon has an end date, the card shows it.
A coupon is the business's offer, not ours. The business honors it, and SeeMe City is not a party to the deal. If a business won't honor its coupon, ask the business first, then tell us at hello@seemecity.com.
How does a business add a coupon?
A business adds a coupon in the lease form by selecting the box that says Add a coupon to this sign. Then it types the offer, a short code and, if it wants one, an end date. The offer can be up to 80 characters, and the code can be 3 to 24 letters or numbers.
Each sign can carry its own coupon, so a building with three signs can have up to three. A coupon is part of every sign, at no extra price. See the prices, and learn how to make a sign first.
Can a business change its coupon later?
Yes. The owner's private page lets a business change or remove its coupon any time, and the change goes live right away. The same page shows how many times people copied the code, along with views, time on screen, link clicks and card opens for the last 30 days.
That makes it easy to follow the seasons. The street is decorated for holidays, so an offer can match. Owners can also share their building link with customers, so a customer can open the sign and copy the code.
What makes a good coupon?
A good coupon is specific, short and easy to say. Here are four habits that help.
- Be specific. "10% off any drink" tells a shopper what they get. "Great deals" does not.
- Keep the code short. A word and a number is easy to remember.
- Add an end date if the offer is for a limited time. After that date, the coupon comes off the street.
- Only offer what you will honor. A coupon must be real.
What are the rules for coupons?
A coupon must be real, and the business must honor it for anyone who follows its terms until it ends. That is the rule in the Ad Rules. A coupon can't run past the end of the business's lease, and fake offers are not allowed. It is the business's offer, and SeeMe City is not a party to it.
Frequently asked questions
Do coupons cost extra?
No. Every sign can carry a coupon, and a coupon does not add to the price of a sign.
Where can I see all the coupons?
Open Deals in the street menu, where coupons are listed nearest first, or read the Deals page at seemecity.com/miami/deals.

A coupon with an end date comes off the street after that date. A coupon can't run past the end of the business's lease, and the business can change or remove it any time.
